Tough Love is the fourth and final song off my new EP and is available now! I recorded this song over a year ago in my garage, but jumped at the chance to redo it when we had some extra time at Big Fish. I like this version much better, and I think it wraps up the EP nicely. Don't forget to catch us live at the CD release show this Thursday, Feb 4th at The Belly Up. Thanks for all the support everyone, enjoy!

Hello friends! My new EP is now available on iTunes. Click here to purchase and download all four songs. Thanks!
I am damn proud of this song. I wrote it about 6 months ago and watching it come to fruition with the rest of the band was an amazing process. It's got all my favorites.. hammond organ, harmonica, pedal steel, and a slow n steady blues groove that makes you want to drive down a desert highway at 3am with all the windows down. Huge thanks to David Mills and Austin Burns for helping make this song bigger than I ever thought possible, and Stephanie Brown for singing back ups. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we did making it. Thank you friends.

California Kid is the second song off my new EP and is available now! This song is dedicated to my fellow born and raised Californians.. It's a boot stompin, whiskey drinkin, four on the flour tune that always gets the place goin. Click here to listen and download for free. Thanks everyone!
Big thanks to the folks over at MILK CRATER for the killer review of "Chasing Fire." Check it out below!
Calling all Americana Fans – Hear Jake Loban’s “Chasing Fire”
By Jordan Tucker via Milk Crater-

It’s a story about love.
Scratch that. It’s a shoot-em-up vilification of love straight out of an Eastwood film. Jake Loban shrouds this aching, open desert road anthem in enough slide guitar, tremolo, and single coil jangle to make any Americana fan want to giddy up.
Loban doesn’t give too much away. Who/what is the protagonist? Therein lies the artistic genius of the song, which wrangles us in with mystery and lets us narrate firsthand just exactly what that fire that burned us over and over really is. A woman? A man? The sun because you forgot that SPF 100? Doesn’t even matter. You’re over it.
This song, the first track we’ve heard from his self-produced upcoming album, draws from Jake Loban’s roots as a California rambling man. A testament to the highway spirit (and all the hard work that comes with it) has characterized him as a lone wolf artist with plenty to offer.
I am very proud to announce the release of my brand new single "Chasing Fire." Click here to listen and download the song for free. I put in countless hours of work with this project, and it's something that I'm very proud of. Thanks so much to the amazing people who contributed to this recording, I could not have done it without you: Austin Burns, David Mills, Stephanie Brown, John Mueller, and Barry Hoeschen. This was the most fun I've ever had in the studio, and I can't wait to get on stage and play these songs live. Enjoy!
